January 18th: NEW FRIENDS

This morning, I went to Senso-Jii (Station Asakusa, Ginza- en Toei-Asakusa line). This is a traditional Japanese 'city' with a great temple. I woke up early so I could be there in time, but there was one thing I had forgotten: it was Sunday. As in the Netherlands, I hate the weekends. It is just too busy. Here in Japan, all the families, students ánd tourists go out in the weekends for sight-seeing. Obviously, the temple was popular as well. When I got there, it was just too crowded so I decided to stay for max. 1 hour. Besides that, it all looked stunning. The temple was beautiful, and there were a lot of statues of important people. The visitors all threw a coin in the well of the central temple to pray. It was so busy, that people began trhowing coins over the heads of the other people: it was a crazy sight so see. I took some pictures and I left, it was enough for me.

After Senso-Ji, I went to Shinjuku to study. I drank some coffee and started studying. I must say, time passes quickly but it kinda feels like I'm wasting my time here. But I had no other plans, so whatever. I just need to get this over with: the test is Saturday!! I had an appointmet with Miyo in the evening, around 20:40, so I had to wait for her.

Miyo had invited another colleage as well: Naoko. We had dinner in a beautiful place on the third floor. The funny thing is, tourists do not notice such things: everything is on higher levels, so you must know what it is before you go in. We had so much fun, they are the sweetest girls ever and their English was perfect. Miyo used to live in Australia for 2 years, and she sounds just like a real Australian! Naoko grew up on an American island, so her English was good as well. We decided to go to Kyoto together, that's gonna be so much fun!! We talked about everything, and left at about 23:30. Miyo and I took the same train, she lives further away but uses the same line (Keio). Maybe, I will meet with her again tomorrow, she is just wonderful. She also bought me a pass for all the subway-lines and trains, so that I do not have to buy tickets all the time. So that's convenient.

Well, tomorrow I have to study again and I am going to call some people. I have to call Disneyland, Anna (friend of Tatiana) and Johnie (Man from the opening party).

Good night!!

Xoxo Steven
